The Road Home to Craftsmanship

it's just been a throwaway world for so many years you buy pair of shoes and you can't fix them suckers you just fell one buy a new pair we're transforming the seat they're knocking down things and we're here rebuilding and creating be courageous half passion and bring it on a craftsman is somewhat getting lost some of those things you can't explain and maybe nobody else cares about it but I wake up super early every morning before it's light out and I work usually until it's dark out I don't want it to just pay push a button two minutes later this happens I don't think there's a secret there and I don't think there's an easy road to making it all happen they say don't be a follower be a leader there's always new ideas that ways to do things you've always is open you can put it on paper and make it come alive just like that that's how you learn is passed the information on you and or would be better for it the value is in doing things super slow putting attention to detail on everything and not stopping until it's perfect because you feel the presence of that material crafting this beautiful object that somebody is going to use and create memories with we're making objects to last the test of time but to make some things along here they're going to be important to the people that I get them to and kind of like leaving little impressions along the way well the way the world does do even a good player integrator but my integrity my honor goes with me you got to do something better tomorrow you did today if you're gonna survive know how we can build and be better we have to work together look back and you're going to find brothers and sisters that are putting their heart into their work as you are they're part of the same movement you know the day these hands gotta do all that I dare you to do what I do

+I Like To Make Stuff sent me.

Amen. Making stuff yourself, repairing your own stuff (or giving other local people who are good with their hands the chance to do it for you for an honest price), repurposing products, retrofitting, and most of all learning how to do so, is the best way to add value to yourself and the things you create.

Due to old age, we might be on the brink of losing an entire generation of artisans who were masters at their craft, without their knowledge being passed on. With the global educational system the way is right now, and where it's heading (getting all the noses in the right direction, ea: the same direction, educating their way into oblivion), there will be a severe shortage of specialists and passionate people who are dead set on pouring their soul into whatever they're creating and who one day might be needed the most. The most.

We Need these people to stay independent, costeffective, and most of all passionate and knowledgable. Let's make people know what they're doing again. And let's create stuff that we're proud of again.

Thanks Carhartt for this wonderful video, that shows you are on the forefront of making this a statement.
