The BEST Home Fried Potatoes Recipe EVER: How To Make Home Fried Potatoes With Onions

hey folks your boy from Philly back with another breakfast recipe you can eat pain fried potatoes for breakfast lunch or dinner but that's my family always made them for breakfast you're going to find this recipe on my website in the breakfast section all right here we have some Idaho russet those are the potatoes that you're going to need for this recipe in you're going to need an onion and I'm gonna be adding a lot of onions to my pan fried potatoes it ain't nothing without a lot of onions it ain't nothing I said nothing you gotta have a lot of onions will you be gonna pay your property no you just gotta have the onions and you gotta have a lot of them all right so make sure you have onions and obviously potatoes but there's a particular car I want you to get and those are Idaho russet potatoes now you got to see these we're gonna be putting in our pan for our potatoes we're gonna be using black pepper you got a had a black pepper we're gonna be using some garlic powder you're gonna need some seasoning salt and if you don't have seasoning salt you can use a combination of regular salt and paprika because that's really all season salt is its salt and pepper pretty good all right and you're going to need some sugar yes I said sugar because we make it the best I said the best pink fried potatoes in the whole wide world don't nobody me pea property is like Philly boy Jay nobody don't nobody do it quite my cup listen listen you gotta add that sugar the sugar is going to give it such a special for all my bro cooks out there they have been cooking for years you know why you add that sugar it just fully enhances the flavor and without it I don't even bake pain problems if I don't have the sugar I'm not making them because the sugar gets it back up it put that up in it they just give you something special and that's why these are the world's best paying properties listen I will pay you to find somebody that making this gives me and you're not going to find anybody out there making them as good as me you're paying property was like Billy Boy Jay they're just not there not Point Blank period you guys are gonna try this recipe and you are gonna love it you're gonna thank me that I've showed you how to me pay a proper tables my way so make sure you have all those seasonings sugar pepper powder these in the salt here's one thing that I want to say about the whole you that you're using we're gonna be using vegetable or you but my folks when they made pan fried potatoes they would always use old or you can call it used or you that they previously used to fried chicken or pork chops or whatever my mom used to always say for you my mom and my grandmother should always say that well that's always cool because it gives whatever you're cooking the oil you with more flavor okay so I'm gonna be using this vegetable you because I don't have any more old or you but if you have some old or you that you already use for chicken or pork chops not the fish but for chicken or pork chops use that old for you all right we're gonna get a pipe we're gonna fill it up with water and place it over high heat and we're going to add the potatoes once it comes to a boil alright guys so the word has come to a boil you so I'm going to add my potatoes and we're gonna let them cook so they are a little tender right you don't want to cook them too long so make sure that you follow the cooking time sortie on my website all right because if you let them cook them to that soon tender they're going to be mashed potatoes and we don't want them to be super super tender all right okay guys so you're gonna stick a fork or knife into your potato like this if it sticks through rather easily and it slides off the knife before that mean that it's fork or knife tender and you're going to cut the fire off drank the water place your potatoes and like a big bowl or something and sit it in the freezer until the potatoes cooled off okay guys so while our potatoes are cooling off in the freezer what we're going to do is peel the slice our onion and like I said I like to use as much onions as possible I think tip at will he gives this dish its taste and make it where it is cut my onions differently depending on what I'm making as you guys have seen by the way which we can do instead of policing your potatoes in the freezer is you can just empty out that hot water from the pot and just fill it up with some cold water you can ask my SIF you want you don't have to but I like to slice my onions this way kind of downward the way you got sliced my potatoes okay then what I do is I slice them like this couple times like that Dave that's pretty much it like that so because we boil you the potatoes it should be rather easy to remove the skin because the skin is soft so we don't need a potato peeler to remove the skin and I'll just remove it with a knife so press and peel okay guys so then what we're gonna do is we're gonna slice the potatoes this is the way we're going to slice them like this okay and this is the reason why we don't want to over cook our potatoes and boy you're doing for long because if they're too tender you're not going to be able to cut them into shapes like this because they'll just fall completely apart okay so I'm gonna slice them up and I'll get back to you when I'm done by the way these are pan fried potatoes it's not the same as smother potatoes because the way that you could smother potatoes is slightly different what they do is they peel the skin of the potatoes first slice them into shapes sort of like this place them in a pan with onions and water and they get them tender that way and then as the water cook down some people will add a little bit of or you it's a kind of frying but the reason I don't like to make those kind of potatoes because I don't like the texture and I don't like the gravy that it kind of creates so that's why I prefer pan fry potatoes over some other potatoes and those are all sliced potatoes let's move over to the stove now okay guys so get your PIN and you're gonna place it over high heat yeah it's high heat you're gonna add your onion so naphtha you're gonna add your onions gonna let them cook for about 45 seconds to a minute then you're gonna add drop of tables we are going to begin adding our seasonings put a start off by adding my sugar the sugar purse but now add our seasoning salt when I had our daughter Tyler last but not least our black pepper and here's what I do I just turn them all around everybody likes their dumb I just tie them like that just like turning and I always end up having to end war or you as well one make sure they fry well okay so I'm gonna let these cook and I'll get back with you guys when they're almost done all right guys so I'm gonna flip them over one last time and this is what you continue to do as that cooking you just keep flipping them over you don't want to start them though I just want to pick them hold on like this look at those bad boys up look me he's gonna be super good hmm and guys these bad boys are done all right here is our pan fried potatoes ah they look amazing these things are delicious like I said make sure that you buy with the recipe to see these are the world's best pan fry potatoes and if you want to taste the world's best pan fry potatoes you've got to follow up the recipe can't do your own thing then I got a powerful recipe once you guys are comment below tell me how you like them I know that you're going to love them because they are amazing I only make these for breakfast on Saturdays guys only on Saturdays and it's really good with some fried fish and some scrambled eggs okay there you go hope you guys and Joey later you

You don't have to par boil your potatoes. Saved Bacon grease is best or Lard! Don't put the onions till they are about done. My Mother fried the best in the world she or anyone I knew Never cooked the potatoes first! I have before but they aren't near as good.

Yes! That’s the greasy way I had them as a kid in the diners in NY. Some people would add green peppers too. I loved them.

A Hint: When you fry the onions, add some diced bacon and fry it up too. Makes the absolute best breakfast.

I bet my grandma would have loved this. She put sugar on everything from popcorn to spaghetti. She lived to a ripe old age of 99.

Do not boil your potatoes. You're making fried potatoes, not mashed potatoes. Just be sure to soak your peeled & sliced potatoes in cold water for 2 hours before cooking to remove the starch. If you don't, your potatoes will stick to your frying pan. The main reason why people hate to fry freshly sliced potatoes is because they stick to the frying pan. Soaking them for 2 hours in cold water should take care of that problem. Incidentally, I'm a licensed chef. For a little more flavor, add a little Worcestershire and A1 Steak Sauce just before their finished cooking. Mmm Mmm, Good!

I’m old school. I save my bacon grease exclusively for frying potatoes. Like you, fine dice some onion and I also like to chop up a few slices of bacon and add them to it
