Round 2: Audi A3 Interior Detail

Round 2: Audi A3 Interior Detail

hey talks day Luke here now with the a3 you may remember when I picked it up it was absolutely filthy probably the worst car I've owned in terms of cleanliness so in this video it's been about six months since the initial detail and the car hasn't really been vacuumed or clean since nethertheless the car still warrants a good going-over so going to be doing some wet carpet extraction removing the seats and just going a little bit more in depth compared to the initial clean on this car since you now have some nice weather here but the before and afters this car won't be as satisfying compared to right just pick this car up because the majority of the work has already been done now if you haven't checked out the initial clean of when his car was filthy be sure to check out our link they'll post in the top right but without further ado let's get all my tools out of this thing and start to clean the initial obvious thing to do is just took up a caviar bag and remove any loose things that shouldn't be there or that can be just don't straight in the bin clapping my Henry vacuum cleaner there's not too much to talk about some vacuum in the car all I'm doing is going over everything that countermove loose dust dirt and debris from the carpet seats and plastics in terms of removing the dust I find the best I guess a soft bush and go over the plastic to the vacuum I find this will remove 90% of the dosed and remaining dust I can go over microfiber and cleaner in this case a mutant Sam's interior detailer here I lay down some tape to give it before and after since leather has never been cleaned on this car in the initial detail this car had cloth seats and I fitted these leather ones about a week after the detail unfortunately the car went on my possession for little bit so enough go bounce cleaner knees now I'm actually going to be removing the seats later on and the reason I'm kind of doing this in a backwards way is because I wasn't actually planning on removing them initially however I got my West carpet extractor Harvey to this detail so I decided to give us a proper test on the a3 and hence I decided to move the seats later on here I'm just going to go over the seats with a clean microfiber and Sam's leather cleaner to remove as much surface tears as possible I'm just rubbing over this one area to see how much of it before and after there is and it's quite a difference it was a lot more mats when finished with while I shininess being grease and dirt left by from previous owners not stuff you really want to be sitting in and guessing on your clothes later I'm going to be going over with a magic eraser to remove more stubborn dirt before anyone shouts for me in the comment section for it I've actually made a video detailing my thought process so go and check that out first we're going to bit more depth about the seats ensures the before and after is quite different which is surprising to show just how dare see clean looking seats really are once clean I a delay of some semantic boost to the seat sisiter provide a layer of silicon dioxide protection and although this typically used on the paints work to protects the air each day of the car is that seem very effective on leather seats one problem with used leather seats as the second that cares especially on the driver seats no matter how clean the gas they won't look goes with a sagging dirt one trick is to use a heat gun on them I've got to be careful since that can damage the seats easy if you're too hot and too close and you could end up with a bigger problem than you're already started with that's why you'll see me throughout this clip keep sticking my hand on the seats cowhide is tougher than human skin so as long as my hands can take the heat then it notice isn't too hot you just have to keep moving the gun on a medium heat and you start to see the seat pull itself back together now you won't get 100% or 70 to 80 percent restoration is realistic with minimal efforts [Applause] if this state and just going to remove the seats from the car and again I just want to stress that the reason I'm kind of doing this in a weird backwards method is I only decided that this point are to go the whole hog remove the seats because my new extractor came through the post of this point I thought while I give her tryouts normally I'd stop by and moving the seats completely clean them outside the car it would just be easier that way but never mind we still get just as much results it just takes a little bit more effort this way so I'm going to give the car a quick vacuum out first before then he's on it with the wets extractor and trying to move any more ingrained dirt and that's embedded into the fibers the carpus there was a bit of an odd smell coming from the carpets especially from the back so if you wanna insert a joke about me being a carpet slicker here go ahead and but there was some kind of spilt milk or something at the back it can still smell sloppy and I need to do really concentrate on that area so I was just kind of seeing how far that spreads around to the passenger side of the car what I'm doing here is I've taken my Henry wash and I'm just saturating the carpet I'm not sucking anything up at this time and the idea is I kind of want to just a louder carpet shampoo to work its way into the carpet kind of soft on the dirt and I'm going to firstly work it in with a carpet bush on the end of my drill the idea is that going to make it much easier to extract later on by fiercely agitating the dirt in the carpets everyone's wondering what my vacuum cleaners will be semi washes are they essentially the exact same as pneumatic George you just don't have to drive capability and to like basically the regular vacuum mode but since I've got back regular vacuum cleaner for that which is much smaller and lighter I Drive up to two machines where I can side-by-sides then one machine it does all and after doing the bush and got a sucker up at this point as you can see and these might not bear to see the dirt coming through the moments of the extraction on this point but it's quite surprising despite how much of a good hands job I did to the car back in around December time we moved as much debt as possible they still can now remove the final bit of dirt by dinner by hands because it just still wallows on the surface and so I'm really surprised me I spend so much time on his carpet and to see go over again with an extract this time and loads of dirt or common house was a bit of an eye-opener but quite satisfying at the same time once I've done my initial extraction like this I'm going to go over one more time with the extractor Bobo Matt seal and stick a more carpet shampoo down at TSA one more time I probably going to do as much times as necessary until a war to be an extracted back up into the vacuum cleaner aids actually clear and it's not dirty at that stage and oh they carpets are pretty clean at least cleaners I'm going to get them hey yeah I'm just focusing more on the smelly area of the car this is not about getting the carpets clean and that sense is trying to eliminate the smell now I went over one day and the smell was still there after it finished this is actually film on a separate day this point because I really want to eliminate that smell and a normal shampoo just wasn't doing the job so I bought an enzyme oedometer they subtly kind of can break down milk and particles in carpets and the fibers which Chipettes do a much better job than a standard carpet shampoo can I actually just went back and did this about half a dozen times to saturate on the carpet each time learn not to work in dry off and eventuated one more extraction and at say 95 cents the smell once then it was final whistle things such as taking on the interior detailer and wiping down side to the center console the bits are obviously quite hard to get to what a seat to him there's a little bit to make quite a difference to a final impression of the car and again I just applied silver stuff like dashboards and the door cards and then finally finished off by using the glass cleaner on the glass and that was pretty much job done at that point just whatever laughs because I know everyone loves before and afters let me give me the original before and after where the car was when I first bought it to wear is now because we seen at the beginning of the video it wasn't horrendous was just a bit dirty and I think a lot of people especially you haven't seen the other video will not remember how bad this car was so I'm quite proud to say to see how the cars turned out compared to the initial cleaner and it's been a lot of work especially over the two kind of details it would have been easier just doing this one detail this time here but when you look at the car this point now it's actually doesn't even look like the same car doesn't feel like the same car it doesn't smell like the same car and it feels a lot less used I mean there's still a little bit of damage to the interior there's still some marks and they're not gonna get perfect but it's now a pleasant place to be and so whoever's in this car now I don't have to apologize to them I don't have to walk around in hazmat suits and so yeah you know and definitely say that West Coptics trucks has been a great investment to mine suratul am purchase and I'm overall pretty happy of Holliston savior's turned out well of course if you want to see more content like this be sure to hit that subscribe button embellish occasion icon is more contents arty lots of contents coming over the next few weeks and the one thing I'm rushing in this next shot is I have a new right that's right I have a Boston over a four how exciting for me it's only the third day forward on this channel and but there's a story behind this this is the cheapest howdy a4 b7 on eBay so it got me quite an interesting and looking into this car to see what's up with this car and what jobs can be done to it I'll show you much more on that in an upcoming video anyway thank you all for watching see you soon and take care
