Renovating our JAYCO 1007 POP UP CAMPER Trailer !

hey guys ok so in this video I wanted to walk you all through our process of me and Samantha buying a camper 2007 Jayco pop-up camper where it looked like this and then how we turned it into this so in this video guys I want to show you the process and vlog format of how we transformed our pop-up camper into something pretty cool and we're pretty proud of it so here it is all right everybody so Samantha and my popup experience really goes like about that far and we had been looking on Facebook marketplace and Craigslist for like months trying to find a pop-up camper and we finally found one over in Orange Beach and we went over and got it if you've been watching the last couple of vlogs I actually blogged how we went and got it and kind of the story behind it so we kind of went down the Pinterest rabbit hole you know you know what the Pinterest rabbit hole is but even though we didn't have any experience with pop-up trailers or RVs guys you know I've renovated a house so I was like let's get the skill saw let's get some stuff and let's throw some paint in and see what we can do with it well do that Samantha's not a bad first time trying to turn the lights on looks like 27 degrees we turn the air on we don't quite you know if it's working because it's 27 degrees first time turning something on it's on something's on all right the light test oh yeah it works yeah we got two lights after we got everything you know checked out and made sure it all worked we headed to Home Depot and Lowe's and picked up some stuff and the work began so Samantha was super adamant about choosing the right colors for the trailer and it took a lot of going back and forth but she finally got the right colors and she did a great job so I got to tell you about this table Samantha got this bright idea to make a table because our RV was missing a table where there should have been one so we went to Walmart and we got one those eight dollar folding tables another billion idea we went to Home Depot's her idea I give her all props we got some slat some little wooden planks I cut them up and we put them on the table screwed them down and then stained them and put some polyurethane here's how it turned out pretty awesome one more for luck okay everyone the table is finished we did have to brace the wood at the bottom so that it stayed level next we are going to putty the screw holes and then we will sand them down a little bit and then stain it you're still going to be able to tell that screws are there but there won't be any divots in it yeah this hard at work working on the camper it's a table right there first coats complete Samantha worked for about two days ish you know dividing that we had to order some more fabric and the mail was kind of slow and it took us a while to get that fabric but she worked really hard took her a few days and she learned her sewing skills all over again even though she was she about through the sewing machine out the window but they turned out awesome we really wanted light colors to kind of brighten the camper up so when I'm sewing it on the machine I know exactly so I wanted to take the second this is the last time that y'all will be seeing Marley he passed away right after this video was shot he was 11 years old that's pretty old for boxers he had been given at this point like you know about a week or two to live by the doctor because his kidneys were shutting down it just happened all of a sudden he went from big strong Bulldog to almost nothing in like two weeks so I dedicate this video to Marley because he's not with us anymore no more squirrel chasing buddy ok guys so we unhooked the currents from the camper save these little clips go in the sliders so I took them out and then I cut the curtain cuz we're not gonna use the Navy curtain anymore and I cut the top off and I'm going to sew the top onto our new curtain fabric and our line II so it's gonna go just like that and then they'll clip right back in so be easy don't have to sew new clips on to the curtains Samantha's working hard and we're watching Vikings Samantha first and it's insulated block all that son Marley approves to do after working all day what do you think Samantha super comfortable we have this foam pad on it to give it a little extra cushion we ran into one for Christmas somebody gave it to us so in preparation for us to get a king mattress but we got a king in the camper so that's our king night but it's all complete check this out guys check this out so it's time to show you the tour of our campers the final stage it's done welcome to our camper give us a show okay so this is the camper we made this little table this is our dinette so Jack and I made this table and stained it we took 1 by fours and cut them because this camper did not come up the table so we cut the wood screwed it on to like a dinner tray table so that it'll fold up and be really nice and flat when we put the camper down and then stain the wood on it so this was homemade this is our full bed so two people can sleep in this bed I recovered all the cushions and then made the curtains and the valance so we have to finish that up this is our little kitchen we painted all the cabinets white and then put this fake tile in this is actually sticky rubber that is made to look like tile it comes in like a 12 by 12 sheet and you just cut it to size so it fools the eye but it's really a rubber when you touch it it's kind of cool so um yeah that's kind of the kitchen I bought these little cheap rags and stuff at Walmart to give it a little pop this is our stove so propane gas stove again I detailed the the tile on it this is our little living room here so again I did all the the cushions I reupholstered on and then I added a couple of pops of color just to make it stand out I found these two pillows on sale never stop exploring and then just a decorative pillow and my clemson ottoman fit perfectly it's our little footstool yeah go Tigers so when you're sitting here just flop your feet up so that was a quick walk around and if you see that our counter tops here we actually did that with like a spray from Lowe's it's like a sand and a paint can with paint it didn't work very well either exchange two cans of it and then we're basically the sheets were already came with the trailer wash them yeah we washed them and basically that's about it we basically bought an old trailer and we fixed it up and we put the laminate flooring in oh can you see it right hold on right here and we we got a pallet from Lowe's it was like a pallet 20 bucks yeah for like 25 bucks and just got weird with it and that's pretty much our flip it's got two gas tanks and a gas grill and it's got AC right here with a heater and it's pretty pumped it doesn't have a bathroom because we're gonna always use the facilities at the place we didn't want to have to clean that out and it's got a hot water heater and then a little tank of holds water underneath with a water pump and an outdoor shower we do yeah it does have an outdoor shower without door hot water heater and that's about it it's like really our first go at RV RVing you know anywhere I got tired of sleeping in the tent so you know this one sleeps about seven you know however close you want to be this one is a full and that one is a king so that's pretty much the walk-around of our little camper that we've been working on so hard so we're pretty excited about this so I hope you guys like this video don't forget to Like and subscribe comment down below if you've got one of these and what model number so Samantha fixed our first meal in the camper out of the crock-pot yeah it's pretty awesome this is so exciting we're staying our first night in the RV check it out check those wood floors out it's so cozy I don't want to leave it [Applause]

Like the remodel. We had a 2010 Jayco 1007 and really enjoyed it for a couple of years. Then, upgraded to a travel trailer with a bathroom. (More important as you get older.) Found your channel a few days ago from Brant’s Yamaha vs. Suzuki video. Have watched quite a few of your videos and enjoy them all. Looks like you’ve found a very sweet lovely lady friend. With all due respect, don’t let the best catch of your life get away. Put a ring on it!

Now that you've had it for a while, would you still see the reflectix to the curtains? We're debating between cutting it to fit between the screen and zipper window and sewing into the curtains
