while Millennials have been said to be wiping out a number of businesses their breathing life into the plant industry according to Business Insider analysts say the love of plants is a trend that's popping up in the most millennial of ways it's driven by social media and sold by startups in fact data from the national gardening association reveals house plant sales in the US have nearly doubled over the past three years to 1.7 billion dollars but the bloom stands in stark contrast to the many industries they've been wiping out including food products services such as banks and gyms casual dining chains home-improvement stores department stores and sports specifically football and golf not to mention the starter home and home ownership in general which Millennials blame on an unaffordable real estate market
