I Used Coffee & Tea To Stain Furniture

hi I’m ray I’m a nifty producer and I’m gonna give you some tips on our natural stain video we’ve all been there where we’ve spilled something and when you spill something why not just embrace it instead of feeling shamed or feeling sad that you made a stain on your furniture I’ve had those friends that would forget to use a coaster on a piece of furniture and those of you that want to embrace it and leave the stain cool it’s your furniture I’m okay with that I like to use this technique versus just staining the wood just because it gives the wood a little bit more character and it gives it that nice barnyard look compared to just applying a solid stain the oxidation process I feel brings some of that wood texture out a little bit more compared to just adding a stain and then wiping it right off I’ve been doing this process a lot for the past few years on various amounts of furniture and for me I like to have just a little bit of more character inside the wood just so that it doesn’t feel like it’s a store-bought piece or something that I just added a later stain to nothing against regular stain but this just gives it a little bit more character I use this technique to dye my dining table I used this technique to stain my coffee table my tables on the side of my couch wood pieces that I’ve given to other people it’s that kind of thing where you could buy a premade box from a craft store apply this technique and it ages up the wood just so that it makes it look like it’s slightly more aged and a little bit more unique whenever you’re staining any kind of furniture especially when you’re doing a homemade stain you want to make sure that you’re testing out all of your colors before you actually apply it to your piece of furniture the last thing you want to do is stay in your furniture and then realize that you actually hate that color this was a really great way to see how the colors were gonna turn out without really committing to a color before standing the entire piece when you’re applying the tea and coffee stains you can keep it as is but I added the oxidizing vinegar and steel solution just so that you could get that nice aged barnyard look not necessarily anything you have to do for this project but I always feel like it works better to give it that nice color fine enough as I was making this project my internet the time Aaron who’s now a TC editor she ended up taking the dresser and it’s back at her apartment she also did change the dresser so that it wasn’t all a gradient of colors she wanted to have it be a little darker so that it would match her current furniture so she stained the front parts of the dresser with the black tea whenever you’re staining your furniture it’s really important to put on a finish I like to use Danish oil or any kind of simple finish just because it will seal in the color into your furniture without really giving it that yellowish stain a few people commented that I couldn’t make up my mind when I was putting the stains onto the furniture I personally thought it looks pretty okay [Music]

I spilled extra strong nail polish remover (acetone) on my dresser and the color isn’t the main issues it’s that there is now a noticeable divot where the liquid spilled and idk what to do. Does anybody have any advice on how to fix it, would I just have to sand the whole top down and stain it or is their a better way to fix it?

Imagine if you stained a coffee table with coffee. It’d be a coffee squared table!

Aren't stains supposed to protect the wood as well, not just give it a colour? I don't know. I feel these natural stains will cause mould and rot.

stain always looks better with some sort of glossy top coat. is there a natural substance that would act in that way?
