Humber Update: Orientation, Interior Design student wins $8,000, Humber Cultural Hub

Hi, Humber. I’m Jaeybee and
I’m a journalism student at North Campus. This is your Humber Update. New students were welcomed to campus
for Winter Orientation this year. Students were able to connect with their classmates,
tour the campus and meet their faculty. Welcome Week activities included recreation drop-ins,
mix and mingles, and the First Year Experience Winter Café. A Bachelor of Interior Design student is the winner
of the PAVE student design competition. Kareena Sankreacha’s greenhouse-style financial institution
concept came out on top against more than 350 entries. Sankreacha received an $8,000 prize for her
design at an awards gala in New York City. The college has officially announced plans for
the Humber Cultural Hub or HCH. The HCH will provide students with access to
cutting-edge technology and experiences, benefit the GTA’s cultural and creative industries,
and attract arts out of the downtown core. The HCH will also include two music and performing
arts venues, industry-infused learning facilities and space for community collaboration. That’s all for now, Humber. For more news and
events visit humber.ca/today. For Humber Today, I’m Jaeybee Martinito.
