How to Do the Epley Maneuver to Treat Vertigo

hi I'm Angelo I just got back from the emergency room tonight I was so worried I thought maybe my blood pressure was dropped or my blood sugar was dropped I got up out of bed today sat up real quick immediately felt like I got pushed over and I felt horrible I almost screamed and it was vertigo but throughout the day I was still feeling really sick I even threw up I couldn't go to work tonight it sucked I got blood drawn they did a simple test they lied me down sent me back up again I felt like I got hit in the head with vertigo they said well you got vertigo so go to an ear nose and throat specialist take some nausea medicine but I'm seeing if I can do this thing called the Epley maneuver I think that's what it's called and get rid of it myself without having to spend more money it's something you do to get like crystals that form in your around your ears inner ears they can get in your one of your tubes that interfere with a liquid that helps that moves when you move your head to keep you balanced to let your brain know where gravity is I don't know anyways you do this maneuver and if it is this thing that's in this tube in your ear this will help move it through based on the way you're gonna move your head a couple times and it should help it get out of there and deal with it and a lot of people end up getting this type of vertigo it's called like B VV r or B PBR or whatever I'll put it the video so here we go I'm gonna do it I gotta turn sideway for this and on the side of the bed where I can hang my head off the end I have it on the right side that's what the emergency room doctor said when I turned my head to the right now I got dizzy on that side so you sit up I can have my I want to make sure my head's gonna hang off the bed here this might be very unpleasant but you sit up turn your head 45 degrees to the right so if this is like 90 degrees or this is nightly straight out and then straight out like 90 right is hat like halfway between them 45 degrees off this might be unpleasant and I'm gonna lie down with my head tilted 20 degrees down so just slightly oh I feel it and keep lying here the room is spinning until it goes away okay the room stops spinning so now turn my head slowly to the left 45 degrees that way and get 20 degrees back until either the Vertigo goes away or just 20 seconds and I don't feel the vertigo so I'm just gonna keep it here no those but I watch them sink oh yeah okay a little over 20 okay now I'm going to get on my left shoulder keeping my head this way and turn my head straight down we're almost completely straight down yep I'm getting a little vertigo so hopefully this is like flushing than that womb and keep your eyes open when you do this your eyes should jitter around and I think mine are doing that and wait until the vertigo goes away oh okay it's going away now this is important use your arm sit up and sit straight up Oh Oh face you guys that was unpleasant excuse the cinematography here and keep your head straight for a little bit now what should be happening supposedly and literally I'm doing this for real this is not like just the demonstration I still have vertigo is that crystal hopefully it went around the tube in my ear sounds like a tim and eric' science sketch and drop down wherever into my jaw or something and I do feel okay right now and what they said at the end of this video which I'll link to in the description again I see these big pasty legs sorry about the cinematography but I'm trying not to move too much because they said keep your head up right until the end of the day now it is the end of the day now it's like 1:00 in the morning 1:30 but I decide okay I'm going to try and keep it upright for the next 24 hours so it's gonna take some discipline but when I lie down I'm gonna have some extra pillows so my head's more or less up straight so this thing really stayed like settles and gets out of money ear hopefully it really does and try and remember it you know in the morning I'm in a daze hopefully I don't move around my sleep too much I heard I heard them say some people will put something under their chin to keep their head up straight but I didn't want to wait till the morning to do this oh that was a trip so I'm feeling kind of better now and I read her I heard this works on a lot of people like 75 85 80 75 80 % of people with the type of vertigo that they described in the video which hopefully that's what I have does it seems very easy to deal with you do that and that 75 or 80 percent of people end up improving after one time doing this so now I'm going to try and keep my head up straight that's the Epley maneuver for vertigo treatment man that sucked today I got I was a mess all day miserable too dying to get some work done I wanted to do it I had to miss work tonight I wanted to work on some videos write some stuff read couldn't do it I was really worried about driving for some reason I was like I'm so worried my blood pressure was low I felt like I wasn't getting enough oxygen to my brain in my organs so I was sucking in air I don't know why so I felt so panicked but anyways so feel a little dizzy right now so let's see maybe I'll have to do this again but that's my tip for people out there who have vertigo so consider this an actual helpful video from me Angelo for once instead of the usual videos goofing around alright like subscribe favorite comment on the video share it with a friend I'll get up slowly I hope this really does it I really can't stand this

Thank you so much for doing this video. I have suffered with vertigo for years. I have missed work, thrown up, and whined repeatedly to my family. After watching the video and doing what you advised (several times), I am good to go. Bless you!

Hi Angelo, This is a great visual for what is happening in your ear where the particles settle in the bottom of the tubes. I have been suffering for a few days and have done the Epley several times with improvement. Try this one too! Best luck. Vertigo sucks!

Move your headboard toward the Kaba. The earth rotates and naturally you can have the earth do the movement for you provided the position is balanced. The Muslim prayers are not just physical movements they balance you. Naturally there is a perfect position to sleep in which heals. Sleep on your right side which also helps your heart and liver. The liver detoxes while the heart finds natural movement. Putting your right hand under your cheeks also has some benefits. Good luck I hope your feel better with your new awareness of your self.

In 2008 I woke up from a nap and the room was spinning so fast I thought I was going to faint, called 911 firemen showed up first and right away said I had vertigo. I felt like an idiot but anyways I was first diagnosed with BPV and than labyrinthitis , after six months of being on disability lost my job of 10 years and still vertigo daily. Went to a neurologist he sent me to ENT he sent me to have an ENG test and they found I had central and peripheral findings. The ENT explained that the ears are like 2 mirrors that are sending messages to the brain when we move, my right side has collapsed and my left side is telling my brain is moving when I’m not and hello vertigo. Ginger does help, I also take the meclizine for the dizziness and all this came with anxiety and a lovely panic attack. Well I had a CT which was fine than off to have an MRI also fine no tumors. So basically there is nothing they can do because surgery may cause hearing loss. It calmed down enough for me to get another job but I could only work 3 hours. Lost that job in 2017 when my vertigo came back even harder than the first time. This one put me out almost 3 months. I was sent to a neck Dr who charged me $300 to tell me there is nothing he can do for me. Off to another ENT where she diagnosed me with vertiginous migraines that cause vertigo. And here we are 2019 and I am still having it daily. Although they don’t always last long it’s there and has taken over my life. Sorry so long but I never really run into people who suffer through this like I do.

I was experiencing vertigo almost every day. And it's scary and dying feeling. While driving with kids and pull over. I hate driving on freeway that's why i drive side streets anytime u can stope/pull over on the side. This is the worst nightmare feeling. Everytime i feel vertigo i do this manuever everywhere. Lol and feel better right away.

Thank you for the video. I have recently suffered from vertigo for about a month and it really effected my daily functioning, especially when nausea and fatigue were involved. I kept reading everything about vertigo and found it to be an underlyjng issue of another medical issue. For me it was extremely low levels of magnesium. I wasn’t sure at first but desperate I was willing to try anything. Just picked up magnesium from the local drug store and within hours, nausea left me, restored by balance and equilibrium and took away my neck pain and issues of strain with my eyes. Truly a miracle. So grateful I kept researching vertigo. Hope anyone suffering from vertigo, finds relief, it truly is debilitating.

Tried this but still dizzy. I'm not sure what's causing mine. I do have damage to my neck that can cause dizziness with neck pain which is what's happening to me now.

Wow…your spinning stopped fast. Mine kept on for 2 minutes. I had to do the procedure 8 times for it to not spin any longer. Next time use a pillow on your back/shoulders so your head will still be leaning back but the bed will support your neck.

IM just a one year PHARM TEC
Be very careful with this procedure…it could Exacerbate this condition..
If not performed correctly…Aside from Meclizine or Magnesium supplements….The Eight Cranial Nerve MEDICAL Procedure is a last Resort…THIS ENDS THE DIZZINESS( VERTIGO) PERMANENTLY….
    CONSULT A REAL MD.

I had my first vertigo attack two weeks ago and it was exactly as you described. I got up and felt like I was slammed into the wall by something invisible. I went to the ER thinking I was dying ? thank you for posting this video. I had someone writing me on Facebook trying to describe this and I did it completely wrong.

I will try this. Just experienced a slight vertigo as I was typing this. I had a massive attack in the office I almost fell in front of my food… With difficulty i went to the clinic and rested for an hour after the nurse gave me meds… That was scary.

Hi. Does this exercise make your vertigo go altogether or do you have to do it every time you are feeling nauseous? I just want to know is it once and then bam you’re cured or do you have to continue doing this?

The Epley Maneuver does indeed work if you have BPPV (and for some other peripheral vestibular disorders, too). But research has shown that staying upright for 24 hours following the procedure makes no difference, so it's not necessary to do that.

Is it normal for having it when I’m only 17? Every time I just move a bit in my bed from right to left side the room is like spinning so much and I always feel like vomiting. Even when I stay still and just looking around I get really dizzy.
