as much as you would like to make believe there are real savings, its only temporary. thd average savings will only last for about a year. im sure everyone has heard of Duke Energy. Due to a loss of profits combined with the massive damages done to the environment in North Carolina and the loss of profits due to the majority of people using less energy because of buying energy star appliances the utility requested the ability to increase rates and it was granted. the elderly and the lower income families who can not purchase those items are now paying an average of 40% more for electric alone.
