Dishwasher Not Working – Lights On

Dishwasher Not Working – Lights On

If the cycle and options enhancements lights
are on, but the dishwasher is not running there is a good chance that the START/RESET
button was pressed more than once. Pressing the START/RESET pad one time starts the dishwasher. Pressing it a second time resets it. To resume the cycle, simply press the START button
again. Always remember: When starting the dishwasher, only press the START button one time.

My dishwasher's problem (lights on, but won't fill or drain) was simply the that the door switch had become mis-aligned. The washer refused to operate because it thought the door was open.

Easy fix on my GE. Turn off the power to the washer. Open the door part way, and remove the 8 screws that hold the inside (plastic) liner onto the door. Now the door is split in two halves. Raise up and "close" the inner half, locking it onto the latch of the main unit.

The black plastic box inside the outer door (at the top) is the switch housing. Carefully pry the clips off the cover. Check that the spring, plunger, and two switches (which are connected to electrical wires) are all seated correctly. Replace the switch cover.

To test, turn the power back on. Press start on your control panel. If the washer runs while you hold the white switch plunger down, you've fixed the problem. Put everything back together.

I finally bought a new GE dishwasher ( removed the broken 7 year old GE dishwasher ). Nothing bet difficulties trying to follow the GE installation manual – terrible diagrams and text lacking in important installation directions. No mention about using old drain hose and water supply cables – to pull through the new cables – what problems this raised. The unit came with a drain house – but no water input cable and no power plug – plus some parts were missing – had to call the supplier – wait 7 days for part to arrive – than I have to pick it up!! It has been a stressful week.

It is now over one month since I purchased the GE dishwasher from Lowes in Sarasota, Florida. I still have not received the missing part ( clamp to hold dishwasher to counter top ) I am not able to properly operate the dishwasher until this clamp is received and installed.

I cannot get the dishwasher to stop. Moved into a new house and we've had to leave the breaker off since January. Any ideas?

My dishwasher started off not running water the first cycle, then running water the wash cycle opening the soap door. Now there isn't running water on any cycle, soap door doesn't open. What is the cause of my issue.

This is a new dishwasher. I had the service technician here and he said it was normal for the program lights to flash during operation. I have never seen that before

First off literally how to basic would have been more help than this. Second for anyone who need help still, check to make sure the washer is not locked before u try to press start on the far right next to the heat dry button if it is press for 3 seconds and also check the time remaining indicator that number is telling you WHEN the washer will start not how long it’s going to take, you can change it by pressing the delay hours button repeatedly until it shows a time that you like.
