DECORATE WITH ME DIY VANITY |FAUX WALLPAPER UPDATE| SUNDAY THROWBACK

Hey, you guys. Welcome back to my channel. Hope you guys are having
a great day today. We are in the middle of
cleaning up the house. Got laundry back here and stuff. The floors are vacuumed
and everything. No, I did not record
this cleaning process because I have on my
sweater and my underwear, and I did not feel like
getting dressed to be appropriate for the video. But that’s neither
here nor there. Let’s jump into today’s
throwback Sunday. So as you can see from here, I
opted to do the brick design. Brick is not really
something that I saw a lot of girls doing. And I’m from New York, and
it’s super, super, super popular to do, like, the
exposed brick design. So I was like, you know what? I can definitely create this,
and it would be amazing. One thing that I just want
to bring to your attention really quickly– I think now people pay a
little bit more attention to when I say things. And I feel like I’ve been saying
the same things even back then in the videos. I’ve always tried to do
things that wasn’t, like, trending or popular at the time,
which was about four years ago. When I did the brick wall,
everyone was doing the damask. Everybody wanted damask. It was damask rug. And that wasn’t really a pattern
that I cared for too much. But when I went to go get the
wallpaper, I was like, mmm, it’s not bad. And I believe it was white
and gray, if I’m not mistaken. But something told me
it was just too busy, that I wasn’t going to
like it, and it was just too much of a commitment
even though it was temporary wallpaper. And sure enough, when I put a
vote out in this Facebook group that I was in, everyone
voted for the damask. There was maybe
five or six people that voted for the brick. And I was like, well,
I’m doing brick anyway. I had like 500 comments on it. And I think that’s one of the
reasons why the video ends up doing so good is
because a lot of people were invested in wanting to
see the outcome on the wall. I did the brick, and the brick
turned out so pretty, guys. It turned out so, so pretty. I absolutely love
how it turned out. You know, kind of
give people ideas to kind of step out of the box. So that was my goal. And of course, I
reposted it on Facebook. And it was definitely a hit. A lot of the girls that
originally chose the floral opted for the brick. I love the brick. It’s different. It’s unique. It’s not something
that I see around. So definitely tune
in because I’m going to go ahead and show you
guys how you can create this. It is super, super easy. So first thing that
I’m going to do is apologize for that
awful music, you guys. I actually hate watching this
video because of the music. But YouTube’s library
and song selections were just really limited. And what you can choose now,
I have different options for music. But that’s what I had to
deal with at the time. So the first thing I
did was starting off with removing everything
off on that wall to get things prepped. The next thing that
you’re going to need is this little kit right
here, which is a blade. And then this is a scraper
to kind of smooth out the wallpaper. Now if you go to Home
Depot, all this stuff is together right next
to the new wallpaper. OK, you guys. So I’m not going to
go all the way up to be flush with the ceiling
because I am going to get trim put all the way around. So it’ll be a
waste of wallpaper. So I’m just going to
bring it up and maybe leave about an inch,
inch and a half of space. And I’m going to go
ahead and start applying. So before this video, this was
actually my very first time ever even using anything
like temporary wallpaper. I had never used it
before, didn’t even know anything about it. I literally was on the
computer for about two days just researching. And finally, like, the Wall
Pop came up on my second day. I was scared to order it. So when I went to Home Depot
and I see, I was so excited. And in my excitement,
that day when I went in, I started doing the application. And because the kids were in
school, yes, I wore a dress. But it wasn’t something
that I was thinking about. But as you can see, I did
say to dress appropriately for the video. I think one of the things that I
feel like we kind of disconnect when it comes to YouTube
and viewers is, you know, at the end the day,
I’m still home. I’m still, like, in
the comfort of my home. And sometimes, what
I’m wearing may not be what you’re going
to do for a project. But I am home, and I am
working in my own house. So for me, it wasn’t a big deal
that I was wearing a dress. But it was a really, really
big deal to a lot of people. But until today, I still go
around the house in a dress and do things. I just choose not to
record it anymore. I don’t know. I just like to work and
be really comfortable. But anyway, the first
application was really easy. The second one is the one
that gave me a little bit more trouble trying to
line everything up. But once I got the
second panel up, oh, the rest just
came with ease. It was just like riding a bike. It came with so much ease– application, lining everything
up from brick to brick. It was so, so easy. And it went by fairly quick. This is the second part of the
video that took everyone out. The dress was the first
part, and this one here is the second part. If you’re doing the
application at home, definitely take it off. But at the time, I
wasn’t doing this to be, like, this is what
you do at home. I was just so
excited, and I wanted to see the result quickly. And I thought to myself,
OK, if it turns out great, then it’s recorded
and I could post it. But then if it turns
out bad, then this video will never go up. So I wasn’t taken into
consideration my dress. And I definitely didn’t
take into consideration not removing the plate
just because I was just trying it out. I honestly didn’t even know
if I was going to love it. I thought it would have been bad
because I was doing something that I would
consider at the time out the norm of what
everyone was doing. And just in case I actually
had the damask, another roll, in the room just in case
this turned out bad because I was like, oh my gosh, I don’t
know what it’s going to look. I don’t know what it’s
going to look like. On top of all that,
I was really trying to get as much done before I
had to get the kids from school. At the time, both
of my boys were going to a totally
different school on opposite ends of Savannah. So I was like, OK,
I have until 1:30. It’s already 11:30. Let me see what I can get done. And I literally went
into, like, mommy mode. I wasn’t thinking about
anything but getting this up on the wall. Again, like I said, if
you’re doing this at home, definitely wear the appropriate
attire so you don’t fall or you don’t trip. I saw where the concern came
in at, and 100%, I get it. But anyway, this is what
the wall looked like before, which was pretty plain. And this is the end result
of the wallpaper application. And it’s four years later,
and I absolutely love it. I absolutely love it. I feel like when I’m
nervous doing something, it turns out the best. But when it’s something
that I’ve never done before, I’m always like, oh my gosh. Is it going– is
it going to go OK? Is it going to look good? And it always ends
up working out. So I almost appreciate
being nervous now if that makes any sense. Update to almost
four years later, this is the current
look of my vanity. Not much has changed, you guys. When I tell you one
and done, that’s just where I’m
at– one and done. The Wall Pop wallpaper
probably ran me about 200, 220, or something like that. To me, that was quite a bit
of money to be spending. And I just wanted
to be one and done. I wasn’t trying to
continuously keep working and overworking the
same space like a crazy person. So when I was going
into this wall, I literally wanted to do it. And I had to touch it. And it’s still up. It’s still workable. It still looks really,
really great in the space. I would still 100%
recommend Wall Pop. I feel like it’s just a
really, really great wallpaper, especially if you’re looking
for a temporary solution. The next thing is, when it comes
to my vanity, it is custom, you guys. Unfortunately, you cannot
buy it in the store. But the light over the vanity
is purchased from Lowe’s, and I did do the light
system from Home Depot. But that’s pretty much it. Wall Pop always runs
special like 20% off, 25% off on their website
and stuff like that. The application for me was
just really, really easy, and it was a good investment. That video, I
actually paid for it. I didn’t even know anything
about sponsorships. I don’t know anything about
brand deals, ambassador. Like, I didn’t know
anything about anything. I just knew what I
wanted in the house and what I was going to do. And I didn’t let
what anyone else wanted for me to get
into the way of what I wanted for myself. So if there’s anything that
you guys get from my video in seeing these, you know,
Sunday throwbacks, it is to take your time to
make those investments and stick to your gut on what
it is that you want to do, regardless to what the
majority vote is going to be, because it always pays
off at the end of the day. Out of all the
mistakes that I’ve made by being on social media
came some extremely valuable lessons that you really can’t
pay for those experiences. You have to be willing to
go through those things because my music is different. The way that I edit is
different the quality of what I’m producing currently
is just really different. Is it the best? Probably not, but it’s
a whole lot better from where I started. But anyway, you guys
have an amazing day. I really hope that you enjoy
today’s Sunday throwback. I’ll see you guys next time. Bye

You should have more views when i click your video through the home screen on the app it shows prince family but then when the video start its your video. I noticed if i type your channel in it goes straight to your page. Is anyone else experiencing this?? Her views are going to other channels like it did in my case repeatedly prince family showed as the video loading until Nadia video actually plays. This also isnt the first time this has happened so i thought i might say something.
