Callum || Product Design at Bucks New University

My name is Callum and I’m studying Product Design. So my creative design is I’ve designed a walker for children with
Cerebral Palsy .It’s just an adaptable walker, built for interior use to
kind of help them bond with it but also improve their independence. The support I got
here was very important especially something so complicated, such as dealing
with disabled children. I was able to get the guidance I needed to kind of
work my way around the ethics but also where I should be looking into the
research as well. For my research I got quite a lot of support
especially as the topic I was doing was also cost of my dissertation and so all the
tutors were able to actually help me plan out how I was going to do my
interviews because I was going to other companies and actually gaining
information from them, so it’s very important that I kind of went with the
right mindset and the tutors are very helpful in making me capable of going
to speak to these professionals. Product design actually was quite challenging
and however it was very much worth my while. We managed to cover many
different mediums not only through simple ones like metal wood but also managed to
expand and I think that plastic carbon fibre at some points and it very much
was although we had projects set I could take the project to whatever I really wanted.
