I'm wondering if you have any suggestions for a non-carpenter on how to keep those large garbage bins with the wheels from tipping over when they're full? If they tip over their contents end up spilling out and blowing all over the place and in my case, into the ocean. I like to keep them on my deck but as I write this, one is on it's side. Fortunately it's empty at the moment.

use grease instead of soap for screws in woodworking, my father always used this method, it has many advantages, first it makes it easier for screw to rotate, and second the wood will react with grease and wood will hold the screw much stronger. thats why they never use grease in wooden slide drawers. they used soap for slides.

Do the exact same nail test, then you will have a better chance to be believed.

No offense but none of these tips are truly effective for a carpenter or wood worker. But still very interesting ideas.

when the wood is hanged over the edge and hammered (the first nail), the force applied by hammer is now also bending the wood on the edge and that will cause it to split or crack, he did it purposely. The wood will always split if you nail straight to the wood knots.

Shit video…the tension of the baton first time split it because you placed it away from the table when hammering it in…Second you hammer baton under a block of wood.
