21 Wedding DIYs | Pinterest inspired DIY wedding decor ideas

hey guys welcome back to my Channel today I'm just hanging out on the floor by my couch you know as you do when you have no clean spot in your apartment and I just wanted to share with you guys 21 DIYs I did for my wedding so let me just tell you first off my wedding was the biggest DIY project of my life so with that I'm going to get started with 21 things which I have written down here because I don't have a great memory so here we go first thing I did was in my venue I made these floral kind of greenery chandeliers and I made four of them and I hang them from the ceiling basically first I took the hula hoops and I wrapped them with black duct tape I started adding the greenery to the hula hoop using garden wire and you basically hold it in place and start wrapping it around I also added in the flowers with same using that wire and the last step was adding in those lights so it just worked so well hang it I used ribbon and I loved how it turned out like it made the ceiling space look so pretty so highly recommend not as a DIY next thing I did was kind of similar to that but I created basically a greenery whoo backdrop used it for cocktail hour up in the cocktail hour but it was so pretty and basically how I did this was I bought several different hula hoops I wrapped the loops in twine and then I bought a bunch of greenery these hangings he liked holders to hold little candles and then I strung those jars using clear a wire that you use to hang paintings it just keep went there when I actually went to hang all these up I I didn't have them all connected to one another it wasn't one piece I actually hung each individual one up and then I connected the hoops together either using more of that wire or using zip ties and that was really really easy what was good about this project is that you didn't need a ton of greenery because the hula hoops were covered with twine you totally just needed to accent the whoo who to make the right kind of layout that you wanted with greenery coverage which I thought was really really nice and I loved how that turned out cake stands so the cake stands my cake table was like a dream Pinterest cake table if I do say so myself the cake stands specifically were really easy I have a tutorial for that there down below but basically I went to the thrift store I bought some secondhand glass plates that were really nice I also got some of the candlesticks varying kind of heights in designs and basically I use e6000 to glue them all together these two thousand in industrial-strength glue so they held up perfectly actually resold them actually we sold everything that I made and I at least broke even on them so that is the cake stands I love the way that that turned out I love the way that the cake table overall turned out hey guys this is Delia of the future I just realized I totally forgot number four which is the welcome sign for the wedding but this recently made it by going to Home Depot found this really thin wood I got it cut at Home Depot to 30 by 24 inches and then I stained it with a walnut color wood stain and then used the Sharpie paint marker in white to draw out welcome Perth and Dahlia and the date and that is super super cute we then put it up on an easel which the venue provided and then I used some leftover greenery to basically make a framing arrangement and I loved how that turns out the next thing is the card box so the card box I got it's actually like a terrarium is that what you call it a greenhouse kind of thing for my Kia I bought these Sharpie paint markers and I basically drew out like parts in Delia press my husband and like a few things on it and I did some flowers in there as well which I got from the dollar store and it just was the perfect thing when cast came in they could see it open the terrarium put their card and it was q the next thing I made were table numbers so for this I bought a long piece of wood from Home Depot I got it cut in Home Depot to size it I stamped the wood to be a darker color and then I used the same Sharpie paint markers and I wrote like one two three four we only have four tables so that worked out perfectly and then those at the front of each table a seating chart I basically came up with design which I made in Photoshop but you probably could have made it in canva which is free canva calm I think it is but I did it in Photoshop and I basically just came out with a little bit of a design I used the same iconography that I had used on the invite and I got it printed at Staples and it was quite big and then I bought the frame and so I just popped that in there and it was good to go such an easy thing okay so I also made the invites I think I mocked them up as a full image in Photoshop as well again you could use canva if you wanted to and then I uploaded it to paperless post and I did all my like invite responses through paperless post we didn't have a lot of time to plan our wedding only four months so we weren't going to send out physical cards anyway plus we saved a bunch of money this way so I mocked it up in Photoshop use paperless post hashtag not sponsored they'll send it directly to your invite list and you can also get guests to respond that way as well and then the next thing I did was the name cards so you know how at each seat there's a name card and for that I actually thought these little wood stumps which were super cute I bought them off Amazon in the US they're super affordable in Canada not so much and so basically for the name cards I just mocked it up in word and spaced each name out on the template and then use one of those paper cutters and cut them all out the wedding programs so at the last second I decided yeah I should probably have wedding programs one little pager that each person can grab as they're coming into the wedding so that they know what's happening in the timeline and what what-have-you I decided to mock those up again I did that Photoshop again you could have done that in canva mine were double-sided and it up and printed again at Staples on cardstock glossy cardstock and I printed three per page and then what else the menus at our place setting we had little menus kind of slipped in and for that I'm on that up in work how did I mess it up i mocked it up in Photoshop I know I messed up inside a shot no you better but again canva you could have used word would have been easy as well I basically just played around with some fonts and printed three per page I actually printed that at home because that was in black and white which made it super easy actually that was one of the reasons I kept it in black and white because I wanted to be able to print it at home so three per page again use that paper cutter cut it up it was super easy and looked really really cute the next thing I di wide let's see so again at the table setting on top of each menu which was tucked into a napkin there was a little piece of greenery we used ruscus and I got the rescues from a direct-to-consumer flower wholesaler the greenery basically came in these long bunches and I took wire cutters or floral cutters probably one the same and I started cutting them up into maybe six or seven inch pieces and then just basically placed them all out I had those on each setting I placed them at the night before the next day they were perfectly fine in fact ruscus lasts a really long time just a heads up if you plan on doing that it's great and ruscus is way cheaper than eucalyptus so I got you IDI wide my veil so I bought a veil from just a random store it was long and what I really wanted was until that had lace and I had tried went on after wedding shop I bought I initially found my wedding dress at but every single veil I saw that had lace around the trim was like 450 dollars and I couldn't believe it I was like I'm not gonna spend that much money on it so I went to a fabric store and I bought lace and then I bought just like a plain white or ivory veil and then I added the lace on hand stitching it with white thread essentially and it looked so so so pretty I will tell you though if you're like looking to save money you still have time that's a great use of your time because $450 for a lace veil is ridiculous but that being said it took a long time to do like you there was no way to do it any faster and I bet that's why they charge so much money for it because it takes a long time to do and it's always done by hand moving on ID I lied my hair so I wanted my hair half back I wanted some twists in and then I had to figure out how to put my veil in and I did that all in advance on my wedding obviously and then on the actual wedding day I basically like set up this like mechanism that had like a mirror in front of me and a mirror behind me and I could see everything with all the angles and then I basically did my hair and yeah I also as the next thing I di wide my makeup that was a really good decision I think I think a lot of people don't really know how to do my makeup for some reason and I love the way that it turned out it was super natural which really pretty it stayed on the whole night I basically spent hours researching what I should do for my makeup I use the soft glam palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills and it looks great I have nothing further to say on that okay so now I'm kind of moving on to things I thought but I did DIY them technically because the typical way of doing them would be to go through like an event planner or a rental company or a florist to do this and I was not about to be that so here we go I put a million candles that's what I put I literally had so many candles like hurricane glass these candles varying heights some super tall some super short I had them all all along every single table in the reception I had them hack if you have a venue that has a fireplace put candles really tall pillar candles in those glass vases on the mantel and it will look so so so good I was like searching everywhere to try and figure out what I could put up there and dr. Rylander done obviously because I had so many candles and that was like my plan for decorating and it looks so stunning so I thought that was such a good idea and I got the actual candles themselves from a variety of places I actually have a video on that so check that out if you live in Canada in the US I got you seventeen I put table settings so for this we had the ladies like fold the table napkins in a specific way I made the menus I put the rest kiss I put all that from the nametags I mean but I also brought the I brought the charger plates those gold charger plates that the plate goes on I bought those all from Dollar Tree there were 125 Canadian aged or one dollar in the u.s. each and I sold them at cost so they were basically free and I'd like to take that as a DIY because I thought about it I bought them they looked stunning and then I sold them so there you go like so basically on the ceiling I wanted to string all these fairy lights so I bought them super super long fairy lights from Amazon I think I got two different ones and I think there were like 150 feet long or something some something insane again I'm going to link them down below so basically the way I had it set up I had the lights on the left side the lights on the right side and then on this Center I had the hanging greenery with that also had fairy lights so it all just came together so pretty they actually hung it to like either side using the command mini sticky thingies that you use for hanging Christmas lights and it turned out so stunning like literally it was it made the actual venue looks so pretty especially as it turned into nighttime so good number 19 is hey brother I got these chiffon table runners off of a company called Koel oh yeah something like that I'll link it down below I basically ran them down the center of each of the tables and then I overlapped them slightly and I wanted to make sure that on the ends of the tables they ran off and kind of flowed at the end so it had that more like bohemian effortless kind of style and that's basically what I did the next thing I did that was number 20 rose petals let me tell you if you go to your florist which is you know the flourish you're paying tons of money for your bouquet and for whatever else you need you have floral needs for they're gonna charge you so much money for floral for rose petals I have no idea why though I was so devastated I was like look I was like I can't fathom paying like $800 for rose petals that just makes no sense for my aisle and my husband was like well if you want to we can and I didn't know like I just I couldn't I'm like rationally thinking that's a waste of money and so I think we were about to go down a different road of life thinking maybe we could buy flowers from Costco and like D peddle them ourselves which I'm so glad we didn't end up doing my husband is the one that actually called this company forest of flowers and I'm sure any wholesaler that's like this would offer better deals and I think for like under $100 like $80 we had tons of wrote rose petals like even more than I probably needed for the wedding aisle and sebat just shows that you should really call around we bought them the day before so on Friday we went they came in like literally a clear fat like garbage bags I just put them in this clear garbage bag and then we put them in the fridge and then our wedding day up coordinator she like set them up on the morning of basically you don't want to leave rose petals out for too long because fell with her fast but yeah that was really really pretty and I'm glad that we di want that instead of going to our florists that would have been a huge waste of money and I actually don't think we would have done it in the end and finally at last but not least number 21 I've said wedding favors so I got married at a blueberry farm and they sell blueberry jam and so we got little tins of their blueberry jam and then I basically just bought these little like thank you hard things and they came on like brown paper cut out really super cute saying thank you and they came with the twine as well although you need more twine than what comes with it and then I basically just had I didn't actually do this this is my one of my bridesmaids she didn't love her she sat there and was like tying them all like super pretty with a little bow so I really appreciate it a dot and that is where it comes to a close guys hope you guys learned something cool today I hope it inspired you if you want to see some my other DIY some of the other things that you know I've done for my wedding let me know if you want to see how I actually did buy wedding makeup for example or anything like that let me know um yeah I'm gonna have another video up here that I'm probably gonna link at the very end of this one and that's gonna be how I threw my wedding my Pinterest perfect wedding in four months and in the end we were only out like net of gifts and everything we were only out about $4,000 so it wasn't crazy at all and I'm going to like that right now and it's also going to be in the description box below okay so thanks so much for watching until next time bye
