2003 Newmar Kountry Star 5th wheel Renovation: THE AFTER!!!

all right so this is the RV about a year after we bought it and I pretty much complete with the inside renovations haven't done a whole lot to the outside as as far as cosmetically you know just maintenance and leaks have done a lot mainly the first time we picked up the trailer the high winds and blew and ripped off the awning on the Chesapeake Bay bridge-tunnel and uh insurance claim covered all but a couple hundred of that so we got a new awning that's that's good so let's go inside that's really where everything's been done let's forget our shoe storage and other odds and ends I've got some rain ponchos stuffed in there and where the old pull-out couch was was we have got a world market couch click-clack sofa and the curtains yeah pretty bright shining through but uh just some sheer Turk curtains from Target um there you go you can see that now let's try to get back the other focus now there's lighting fixtures on the wall some street lamps tile fixtures street lamps tile yeah that used to be an Edison bulb there I was messing around with a Wi-Fi smart assistant bulb we've got Coco bamboo roller blinds and over there as well as you see we painted everything owl grey and then we painted all the handles every single handle that was that old gold color has been spray-painted oh quick in here I have installed a hard-wired progressive industries 50 antha electrical management system with surge protector and you can actually plug it in through the the old phone line and bring it here and you can see see how much amps you're pulling on each line what the voltage supply is and any our coats we fur our TV setup we've got a little I think it's a Samsung projector 720p and it goes on to our IKEA roller-blind which doubles of course there's a big window there and it's really it's a really good setup to save on weight keep the kids from being on a TV it's just a great setup that's relatively new the wooden peg bar for life hang and stuff and of course probably the biggest change is the flooring we we used home decorators collection laminate planks and our bur oak from Home Depot and we did that through out the whole RV this color over here is actually decorators white pretty much everything else is al gray we've got a peel and stick black backsplash we've got and two plugs I've installed the plugs there with two USBs for charging our various USB stuffs of course some hooks for them for for our mugs and that was in a plug we there was some dirty connections and low voltage and I I could put a plug there but we don't we don't really need it we've got plugs everywhere behind here and whatnot so and Chemex my wife loves the coffee oh definitely a coffee connoisseur you see probably see some cold brew percolating over there and IKEA stool Bed Bath and Beyond salt garbage-can kid's room is not completely done we recently put some some cheap white roller shades in here I finally got the last of the old curtains in here but here's the here's the kid's room actually put a transition strip here to go from parallel to the trailer perpendicular over here just because I wanted to go a long way of just the board's work when you go along with a long parallel with the room the length of the room you do less cutting but yeah we got our grain here put this ladder in here for extra support and there just wasn't really anything for our daughter to climb up into the bed aside from that table over there and that leg wasn't there and there was no support I didn't want anything to break just trying to make everything sturdier install these rails so that our kids wouldn't roll out of bed but they're still so we still got some stuff to do in here it's not ready yet you know we're gonna do some wallpaper and stuff that my wife wanted to do it just haven't gotten around to doing that yet you know we'll do that as as things allowing so let's just see it with the roller blade down see how it's light filtering and Sun shines through and let's see our chalkboard our keyring which of course I tend to take over a lot of this available storage stuff with my lighted safety glasses which are a favorite and morenae Poncho's and stuff I I need to take care of that and now our bedroom you see I I didn't use the risers I probably should have I just used a laminate planks and just sort of made it up with some of their other trim pieces and in here we've got our gray and we just used a different color we painted the handles some sort of copper I think it was like copper color than my wife chose throw some light on it that's better peel and stick Marlborough ma marble countertop and a new fixture if you can if you can see it you can't really see there we go that's better that's what it really looks like what we see the camera some capture it um of course peel-and-stick marble they're on both nightstands we've got our course we brought our queen-sized memory foam mattress we've got some copper eyeball sconces where there used to be some some gaudy DC lighting fixtures just – that really goes well with these copper handles and matches and pretty good yeah every handle painted that's all I will gray back here here's our washer and dryer we haven't done anything to the inside of that well one thing has changed the washer that came with the camper conked out and after much painstaking internet searching we found this washer of rough almost exactly the same dimensions were able and it runs and when it spins now it doesn't sound like a herd of elephants so it's probably a good thing probably helped us keep our sanity that that it went out and forced us to get a new one the dryer that came with a camper still going strong and just to show you the wood planks they there's no transition here since it was a small room I just let it flow right into the bathroom but uh yeah nothing we haven't really done anything special in the bathroom other than the flooring it was a little bit tough to cut a hole around the here event but we did it breaker box in there and a motion activated light for at night one thing that work sort of temporarily covering up is as I took off some of the lighting fixtures back there that's actually covering up a little one-inch hole behind there and will will either patch that eventually or put probably put in some DC USB plug chargers whatever we do I'm sure it'll be nice a little printer cubby up there with a nice small printer we found and I'm thinking that's really about it you know only other thing we did was a slide out topper that's on the outside I've got a video of that we didn't really do anything the shower that's if we I don't know if we ever will we'll see of course we also took off any of the gold gaudy fixtures that we kept we we took them off and painted them that copper color that my wife likes and I like it too I've been the executioner she's been the visionary through throughout all this and I'll I can probably go and do another video for any questions if anybody has any questions on how I did certain things like how how to make the laminate planks work with slide outs that was probably the most interesting part of of any of this especially with the big bedroom slide I'll probably go into a little more depth if anybody cares to hear about that well that's it I hope you like the the after video we certainly do we love it we're definitely blessed all right see you later

Hey! This looks awesome! My husband and I just got a 2003 carriage cameo that we are renovating. We are looking into washer and dryers and since you briefly brought that content into this video could I ask what brand you are using and how you like them? Much love and many prayers to you and yours!

Great job! I just wish the lighting was better because the color of the floors, paint, hardware, etc…all showed different hues as you panned the room from different angles.
Other than than I love the projector. I too have one in my class c and love the "out of sight" appearance lol!! I have a sm 32" in my bedroom where I watch movies at bedtime ?
Thank you for sharing your ideas.
    It looks great.

I love the idea of the projector in place of a physical tv! How are you guys liking that? Can you see it when it is day light or does it need to be dark to be visible?

Thank you! I've picked up a few great DIY tips from your video.
May I ask why did you choose Newmar brand over others and why this particular size/layout?

Is that a collapsible crib attached to the wall in the kids bunk room? Where did you get it or did you make it? If you made it I'd love a video on that.

Looks awesome! I've been trying to figure out how to install the dual usb outlets in my 1993 travel trailer. We bought 15 amp outlets. Did you just wire them in like normal? Thanks!

Wow! This is the best Reno I've seen yet. Did it originally come with the separate room/bunk beds or did you guys make that yourself? Very cool.

You're funny. You were more concerned with the furniture breakiing than your daughtet breaking her neck

Love to see a detailed video on how you made the slide outs work with the new flooring and the transitions. Want to do this to our Newmar but scared about making the edges of the slide outs look professional like you did.

That's beautiful! Really beautiful! Question: Where do people go when the weather is bad? We have a 1992 Prevost Royale bus/coach. My husband would live in it but I'm afraid of bad weather. So many people live in their RVs and I wouldn't mind a bit but the weather gets bad at times.

Great job! That is an amazing transformation! We found similar flooring at Lowe’s. GENIUS using the projector and screen! We will definitely be utilizing that idea, among many other ideas gleaned from this video. Thank you!
