Hello dear friends! Many of you asked for a workshop on the suspension houses, which I showed in a video review of my work. Honestly, I really like these houses myself, so I’ll be happy to show you the whole process. And I also prepared a surprise for you, but I’ll talk about it at the end of the video, but for now let’s get to work. First, we need egg trays and a product template, which, as always, you will find in the description below this video. On one suspension you need 4 trays, or rather 4 even lids. We circle the patterns and cut them out. Please note that each figure consists of two mirror blanks. That is, in the end you should get 6 blanks: 2 houses, 2 hearts and 2 rectangles. Now we need to sew the same blanks with each other. You can sew with absolutely any seam, you can use a sewing machine, it’s more convenient for me to do it manually, well, and if there is no desire to sew at all, then you can try to glue the blanks along the edge with a thermal gun. And we do all this so that our pendants become chubby, but to make them chubby they need to be stuffed with a synthetic fluff or holofiber. Next we need any self-hardening clay. We dilute it with water to a state of thick sour cream and cover all the workpieces in 2-3 layers on each side with obligatory intermediate drying of all layers. I already showed this way of turning cardboard into durable and unbreakable material in the last video and, if you have not seen those bright fishes, be sure to look, I think you will like it. After all the blanks are completely dry, they need to be sanded a little with sandpaper or a nail file. Next, carefully pierce the holes with an awl or a thick needle, through which in the future we will connect all the workpieces into a single suspension. 3 holes at the house, yes, I forgot at this stage about the very top hole, but it will appear a bit later, 2 holes in the heart and 4 in the rectangle. Once again, we cover all the blanks with liquid self-hardening clay, grind with sandpaper or a nail file, once again pierce the holes with an awl and our blanks are ready. We cover all products with white acrylic primer or white acrylic paint and you can start painting. I really like bright colors, so I will make mushrooms – fly agarics. You can paint the houses with ceps, boletus, boletus or any other. According to my idea, the pendant should be in the style of primitive attic toys – therefore, the painting will be as simple and a bit sloppy, and the final product will be dusty and seen. To achieve this, I do not use pure white and black paint, since these colors are characteristic only for new products. I paint a little white with yellow, and replace black with dark brown. By the way, I advise you to always use pure white and black colors very carefully, as it’s easy enough to spoil even a very good job. After all parts of the product have been painted, we write any text you like in the rectangle. I have this inscription: “home is where your heart is.” For me personally, this is the most difficult stage, because, as you have noticed, even inscriptions and I are not very compatible things.=) But we make primitive toys, so it’ll do. Then we collect all the parts into a single whole with a cord or rope and hang them in a prominent place, for example, somewhere in the hallway. Our pendant is ready and I really hope you like it. Not only because I tried hard, doing this master class, but also because it will go to one of you!
